Sustainability, Social and Environmental Justice

I’m in my third year at California College of the Arts in SF and on my way to achieve my BFA in Interior
Design. Local environment and social justice are my concerns when I design a project, especially I sense the responsibility of an interior designer in society when I am exposed to environmental arts and disable
artists in my classes this semester. A design can empower some people while disempowering some people systematically at the same time.

I had two and half years of experience as an assistant Interior Designer in a five-people design firm in Taipei, Taiwan. Design, drawing, cost estimation and control, construction on site were items I did with the support of a team. I’m also preparing for the exam of LEED Green Associate and will take the exam in the summer break.
